Former Bobcat Gets Call-Up, Dominates in First Start

MOBILE, Ala. – Former Georgia College pitcher Josh Taylor (2014) was recently called up to the Mobile BayBears, Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Taylor wowed the crowd in his first start Tuesday, a complete-game shutout.

Taylor had modest numbers for the Class-A Advanced Visalia Rawhide, but the Diamondbacks' No. 25 prospect showed his mettle in the Double-A start. Taylor scattered three hits, all singles, and didn't walk a batter while fanning five.

The former Bobcat didn't' let the call-up get to him.

"I just treated it like any other game," he mentioned in the recap on "If you try and change anything up and think about stuff like that, get your mind going, I think it throws off your mental preparation for the game. Just keeping your mind off the fact that this is my second day here and first game in Double-A, it was key to pulling me forward."
