ROCHESTER, Minn. – Fresh off outstanding sophomore seasons for the Georgia College Baseball team, outfielder Logan Mattix (Loganville, Georgia) and pitcher Cameron Busby (Grovetown, Georgia) have both earned Northwoods League All-Star recognition, the duo's summer collegiate baseball league.
Both Bobcats play for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, and will represent the South Division in the All-Star Game July 19.
All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Second Team selection Mattix is hitting .248, but has shown impressive power with a team-high six home runs and 19 RBIs. Second on the squad with 10 doubles, Mattix has scored 28 runs and stolen five bases as well.
The PBC Pitcher of the Year in 2016, Busby continues to deal this summer, boasting a 1.86 ERA in 14 relief appearances. He owns a 5-1 mark with 19 strikeouts in 29 innings.
The Rapids Rafters finished atop the South Division for the first half of the season, posting a 24-12 mark.
