DUE WEST, S.C. - Junior Jordan Thomas (Conyers, Georgia) got the season started in a big way with 33 points, but it wasn't enough, as Georgia College Men's Basketball (0-1) fell 78-62 at Erskine College (1-0) Friday afternoon.
Thomas hit 12-of-20 from the field and 5-of-8 from long range to net his career-high. He also tied sophomore Wesley Simpson (DeLand, Florida) with a team-high five rebounds.
The Flying Fleet used a balanced scoring attack to fell the Bobcats, putting six in double-figure scoring, with none netting more than 13.
The Bobcats hung with Erskine in shooting, knocking down 43 percent to the Fleet's 45 percent from the field. The big difference came on the boards, where Erskine out-paced GC 42-27.
The Bobcats will be back in action tomorrow, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m., taking on North Greenville University.
