GC Men’s Basketball Picks up First Win of New Season, 72-63

DUE WEST, S.C. – The Georgia College Men's Basketball team (1-1) finished off the Conference Crossover Saturday with a 72-63 loss to North Greenville University (0-2) at Erskine College.

Sophomore guard Wesley Simpson's (DeLand, Florida) career night helped lead the Bobcats to victory, as he shot a blistering 10-for-12 from the floor for a game-high 20 points. He also led the squad in both rebounds with nine and assists with five.

Junior Jordan Thomas (Conyers, Georgia) poured in 19 points adding six boards and five assists as well. Sophomore Christian Koneman (Chatsworth, Georgia) chipped in with his first career double-digit scoring effort, netting 13 points, including three three-pointers.

The Bobcats won the battle of the boards 42-34, and had 20 points off turnovers.

GC Men's Hoops is back in action Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2:30 p.m., traveling to Saint Leo University.
