MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The #13 Georgia College Men's Tennis team (5-1) dominated non-conference opponent Lincoln Memorial University (6-2) Saturday morning, winning by a 6-1 margin at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.
The Bobcat men started quickly with a pair of speedy contests in doubles play to secure the opening team point.
In the first slot, the pairing of Robin Moller (Hamburg, Germany) and Matt Rogel (Sautron, France) bounced back from a first game loss to win six straight and claim the victory over Sebastian Colla and Fabian Sjokvist. Third doubles finished slightly after, with Nathan Connelly (McDonough) and Enzo Kohn (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) controlling Moritz Hoerner and Iker Moure by a 6-2 margin.
Moeller wasted no time extending the Bobcat lead with an impressive performance in top-flight singles. Moeller surrendered just a single game to David Segarra in a 6-0, 6-1 match that kept the Bobcat junior undefeated on the season.
Rogel fought hard in the second slot, battling Moure but winning a 7-5, 6-4 contest. Jannik Kumbier (Neumünster, Germany) secured the overall victory for Georgia College, overcoming a strong push from Hoerner to take the match in three sets, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2.
Noah Wallace (Grayson) and Kohn each rounded out the day with wins as well. Wallace battled back from a first-set defeat to win 6-7, 6-2, 10-4 in fourth singles and Kohn rallied for a 3-6, 6-2, 11-9 outcome in the sixth slot.
