MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior Sydney Brown (Canton) of the Georgia College Women's Cross Country team has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for her efforts during the week ending Sept. 29.
Brown set a personal-best with an 18:51 in the 5K at the Queen City Invite this week. The time goes down as the third-best in school history. Brown finished 26th in a massive 316-runner field, helping the Bobcats to 14th place as a team. The Bobcats beat five Division I programs in the process.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Oct. 12, hosting the Bobcat Invitational at Council Farm Course.
The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner Cup and the 2017 PBC Sportsmanship Institution of the Year, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
